Pro-2096 cpu version???

I bought a pro-2096 off an ebay store the seller told me it was new,version1.4
I took it in to my local Radioshack to have it cloned to one of thier 2096's
now when i startup the scanner i press function,3
this tells me my radio is cpu 1.3
Could this be from my clone from Radioshack or is there any way to tell if i really bought a version 1.4?

You bought a v1.3 , cloning does not change firmware or DSP.

Edit: I'm surprised 1.3 even exist, my understanding is 1.4 was going to be the next cpu from 1.1.

Did you check the CPU version prior to having it cloned? Just curious, because like Frank said, you definitely bought a v1.3...cloning will not affect the CPU version...unless you are using one of those star trek cloners that actually transports new hardware into the other scanner!

now his story is that when i emailed him asking if it was version 1.4 he now states he misunderstood me and first thought i was asking about the newest version of a pro96
he stated the newest version of the pro2096 is 1.3
and the newest for the pro-96 is 1.4
I hear the newest versions are different then what he is saying now,that the sale is closed and he is off off ebay but scaringly most likely back on with a different idenity.

There are no differences between the two - for all intents and purposes they are identical (at least that’s what I’ve seen).

According to Dave (Angola_Fire) in the Yahoo groups, they are bringing out CPU 1.4 for the 2096 and 1.5 in the 96 in the latest scanners. He runs an independent RS store in NE IN.

As I understand it 1.5 does have some differences, but 1.3 and 1.4 are the essentially the same. Anyone got the real story on this? I'm just relying on what I've read here.

You can only update the DSP version. In your case, from 1.2, to 1.4. The download is at the link below. It is a very easy process.

on my 96
but it did not clone upgrade on the 2096 ....do i have to be direct connection to my usb cable and radio shacks page to get the app 1.4
onto my 2096

Cloning only transfers data from working folder from one scanner to another.

Am I understanding correctly that the most recent PRO-2096 CPU version is 1.3? If so, does anyone know what was changed between CPU 1.2, and 1.3? Also does anyone know what date code the CPU v 1.3 began to appear?

I think 1.4 was recently released in the 2096 for Cincinnati. If 1.3 exist, it may be compaired to 1.3/1.4 in the 96, i.e 1.2/1.3 in the 2096.

my pro-2096 i just bought off ebay is indeed version 1.3
