Hi all. I'm hoping someone will be able to help me on a problem I'm having. I have a pro-96 and a pro-2096. When holding on a UHF digital control channel (using the exact same antenna, the pro-96 fluxuates between 90 and 99% signal, while the pro-2096 fluxuates between 10 and 70% signal. Is there a pot inside the 2096 that i could adjust to improve my signal strength? I'd really like to be able to pick up this trunking system with the 2096. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I will be opening mine up tonight anx trying that. I figured it had to be a pot in there that could be adjusted, or "fine-tuned". I used a similar method to improve the receiver in a Walkman a few years ago.

I'm here a lot
How is the condition of the female end of the BNC antenna connection on that 2096?

If antennae are frequently changed, then the bayonnet from the male end can separate the female metal part inside the connector over time and it would result in a poor signal to the radio.

This adjustment will not improve the signal strength, just the P25 performance. I would start by looking at the coax and all connections first, as mciupa beat me to it.....

I have checked the connector, and all appears to be normal. The cable and antenna are exactly the same, so there should be no variables there.

Well, it looks like I just broke the pot apart. Now the damn thing doesn't pick up anything. In the trash that goes...
