The Pro 2096 that I just got brand new in box 3 days ago has developed the blank and jumbled display problem.I know i've read a few threads in this forum about this problem.I took it back to Radio Shack and they are going to send it for repair in New York and it will take a week or so for repair.
Are the any Pro 2096 users who had this problem fixed,I'm wondering how it went and does the repair hold up or will it blank out again.Other than the display problem the 2096 really performs great on the Michigan digital MPSCS system.

If you got it from the store I'd swap it for another.
If by mail I'll step aside for other responders to you question.

Well I did get it delivered throught the mail ,but the RS clerk did give me the option of swapping it out for another unit. But I've seen a few complaints from 2096 users that there display's have gone out also ,so my chances of getting one with the same problem seem fairly high and is why I went with the repair method.

I recall seeing some of that discussion.
I usually like handling difficulties like this face-to-face.
If you get another right away you still have the balance of your 30 days to your benefit.
I hate extended warranties, but, you could opt for one, probably would be pretty
expensive though.

The extended warrenty is at the point of purchase as far as I know and its $49.00 if I remember right.

Mine went back last Thursday and I was told that my one year warranty covers the repair and shipping. I hope!!! This is a club I did not want to join, seems like this should be a out right recall I have heard of tons of people with this problem.

Mine was brand new and the display went out after about a month. Mine was switched out with one with an earlier production date. No more problems 1 yr later.
