pro-2096 firmare

I was wondering why RS has not updated these units before selling them??. I recently purchased mine at the R/S site online.
People are having to send thier pro-96's back to them for it and now the same thing will occur for the Pro-2096.
Not too smart if you ask me,and very disappointing.
The latest PRO-96; Boot F1.0, CPU: F1.3, DSP-APP:1.2, DSP-VOC:1.0.
My PRO-2096 is. Boot F1.0, CPU: F1.1, DSP-APP:1.2, DSP-VOC:1.0

Another point worth mentioning,that this unit is pretty much a clone of the pro-96 but has more audio power.They should of kept the squelch and volume controls as seperate dials. Sometimes when adjusting the volume I also adjust the squelch.

I noticed that as soon as Rich posted those firmware numbers and asked him that question. I would assume that since no one is reporting the dreaded 40xxx tg problems that all is well.

The 2096's F1.1 CPU is more recent than the 96's F1.3 CPU. They're not the same code, and the version numbering cannot be compared.
