HELP - I've had this thing since 2005(?) buying in preparation for Montana going trunked when I lived up there, well now we live near St. Louis and I'm trying to program the Warrenton MOSWIN tower in by hand and after messing with it I give up before I lose my sanity. What the heck are the offset and step and all the rest of this crap? Now my mind has the offset being the repeater input difference from output and the step being separation between channels, none of this matched up to the tower frequencies.

I would like to do it by hand so I can actually learn the thing but I'm not sure my sanity will hold on - HELP

Not trying to be a smart A here ,I am far from an expert . I would recomend buying a programming cable and using a software program to program the 2096. When I made the jump from analog to digital it was quite a large learning curve compared to conventional scanners. Plenty of help can be found here on the forum as well.

Well it came up on my radar again and it became important enough to get the programming cable and I'll probably download and use the WIN96 software later today or this weekend, is WIN96 the way to go or ARC96?

Personally, *I'd* go with WIN96 to do your programing as *I* feel it is a lot more `user friendly' and Don is also fairly `user friendly'. {VB GRIN!}

Also KA3JJZ is correct about being able to find out if there are any `gotchas' specific to Missouri you need to know.
