pro 2096 no receive

ok it was working ok...it was in my truck i also have my yaesu 7900r in there as well my antennas are fairely close together

i usually shut the scanner off when using the 7900r but a few times i forgot it on could this cause the scanner to malfunction

i have no more receive...i tried my other one to make sure it wasnt my antenna but the scanner works fine

what would you suggest i look at first

Really sounds like a solder joint on the board needs to be resoldered. Have you opened the radio up to check where the antenna is soldered to the board?

i opened up the case but theres a steel plate over the connection...i didnt go to far looked too much for my skills

I see what you mean. I have a pro2054. They are the same except what they receive. Hope you can get it fixed. Wish I could help you more.

You probably burned out the RF coil. Having antennas too close, especially one that is used for transmitting, can do that pretty easily.
