Can anyone tell me if the Pro-2096 Base Digital Scanner can be rebanded for the 700mhz band? My province is switching from 800mhz to 700mhz trunked radio system. Will I need a new scanner?

It won't trunk-track a 700 mhz system. However, I have read that if you program it with Win96, you can monitor 700 mhz frequencies in conventional mode.

Keep in mind that the sensitivity might vary wildely on 700 Mhz from one unit to the next. One unit might work fine - another might be as deaf as a stone. This radio was never intended to cover this band, so it's really not so surprising.

And please, keep in mind that rebanding has absolutely nothing to do with 700 Mhz. It's another myth that keeps on rearing its ugly head from time to time.
