This is similar to what I posted a few weeks ago and had a lot of good responses. My PRO-2096 had been decoding APCO-25 modulation on an intermittent basis, but this has stopped entirely and all I hear is noise on the digital channels. I have reset and initialized the scanner, tried all DSP versions 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4, all to no avail. I had been using DSP 1.4 when it WAS decoding. My PrO-96, on the other hand (programmed for the same system, Greensboro/Guilford County, NC) using DSP 1.4 decodes fine. Radio reference.com lists only one (1) site for the system. Could this be a radio failure that requires service? Radio is beyond warranty, and I'm concerned that Radio Shack repair will send it back with the same problem (or worse), say it's fixed, and charge me $100+.
