Hello,

I just picked up the PRO-405 and from the frequency database I put in about 5 different codes so far (Lakewood/Cerritos sheriff's, Torrance PD, etc) and I noticed on some of the LAPD frequencies I'm not getting anything but if I put in let's say, Torrance PD and I live in Lakewood, I get it clear as day. Can you tell me if I'm going to miss out on a lot of Los Angeles frequencies with this scanner?

Thanks

It appears from the database (link below) that LAPD is P25 digital. Your scanner cannot decode P25 digital signals. You will need something like the Radio Shack Pro 106 or 197 or one of the Uniden scanners (not sure which ones work for digital). You can listen to LA County but not the city.

Los Angeles County, California (CA) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

In the database if it says P25 or has a D under mode, you will not be able to hear it.
