pro 43 keypad

the keypad on my pro 43 has become unresponsive (its not locked) . the scanner seems to work otherwise and the keypad is in good shape externally.im thinking/hoping a solder joint or other simple fix.has anyone else had this same experience and if so what was the problem?any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's a pretty common problem with the 43. Standard repair is a new keypad, but I can't tell if they are still available or not. The parts list is here: http://support.radioshack.com/support_electronics/doc30/30401.htm It may be P/N 11156064 CONTACTS FOR THE KEYPAD XB4284.

To quote from the Radio Shack website: "To order parts call 1-800-843-7422 or visit your local RadioShack store."

Now how did I miss that? :? Oh, I see, it's listed between the connectors and the ICs, I went all the way down to the end of the list looking for it. Thanks, I may just order a spare for my 43 while the keypads are still available. :lol:
