Hi and thanks for reading.
I bought a 433, a programming cable and scancat lite. To be honest I am frustrated trying to program. I retreived the frequencies and id's for my area, guilford co, NC. and I connected and programmed. Everything seems ok until I use the scanner. The program ID scan won't seem to scan and only the 800 freq come up.
The scanner is has trunk selected and on display, but I keep getting the birdys...The ids wont comeup when someone does transmit.
I think I had better luck when I manually entered them years ago with my pro 94
$30 for the scancat, $35 for the cable and $119 for the scanner....what did I do wrong?
Thanks

You bought Scancat Lite rather than ARC433. If you do a search on these boards you will see the majority of opinions about Scancrap.

Here are some suggestions:
1) To eliminate the program as a problem, just enter the 4 control channels manually.
2) Join this group for programming help and a simple trunking explanation.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PRO-433_scanners

3) Join the RadioReference group. http://www.radioreference.com
4) Ask about the system in the North Carolina forum.
5) Find the system in the RR database (top of each page, click DATABASE).
The 4 control channels you need are in blue and red.

One problem I see is there are 31 freqs. listed. A Motorola system can have only 28 freqs.
That NC forum should straighten that out for you.

In the Talk Group list, the TGs with a "D" are digital and the PRO-433 can not receive them. The ones marked "A" are analog and you can get them OK.
