Pro 444 Questions.

Looking to get a friend cheap decent portable scanner been looking at the Pro 444 i know its listed as a racing scanner use only no public safety but was curious if it was able to be programmed for public safety or im guessing just the UHF bands?

We have all basic radios systems still up in Carbon/Monroe so nothing fancy needed but would like it to have the PL/DPL function to cut out interference

It's just UHF. No VHF or 800MHz. Not as easy to program either, even with the software. Very much designed for racing only.
