PRO-46 and PRO-95 questions

Hello All, just me again rambling ...

First of all, I lost the battery pack for my PRO-46 somewhere between cleaning, packing, moving and unpacking (in '01). Can I either use the pack from my PRO-95 (that I don't use with batteries often) or order a new one? It can't be that much right?

Second, I'm going to be moving to the Seattle area, and I've already programmed some frequencies. I've heard something on a couple of frequencies, mainly just white noise, but I thought I heard a voice the other night. Can the standard antenna for the PRO-95 pick up fire stations from 3000+ miles away? Or am I just going insane?

Third, I know nobody's going to know this, but are the prices for scanners and accessories lower in Seattle than here in Florida? Everything else is cheaper up there (except for housing) so would I like say be able to purchase maybe a PRO-96 or BC396 for less up there? Are the prices standard across the country?

Prices wont vary too much. Figure around $550 if you REALLY want to here & be prepared to here things. 3000 miles / NO. If you put 155.310 (example) in your scanner and drove across country, you would hear many different agencies on it.

The most recent one is 155.4 - Bothell, WA Fire - 1½ pages worth for that one frequency in my book.

I'm assuming (and hoping) $550 is for a digital TrunkTracker III with huge gargantuion(spelling?) antennas (plural antennas)? It only cost about $150< to get my nice new handy dandy PRO-95 back in May (I think)...I don't really need digital not too much up there. Down here we're a dog-gone police state what with the FHP digitally encrypting their M/A-com. NOTHING like that up there, state police are VHF (155.58). Speaking of which, that's the newest hiss spot, 155.58. Are there certain frequencies that just do that? Sounds almost like if you get a microphone to close to speakers loud high pitch BEEEEEEEEEEEP. Or is it just interference from 2 scanners and 4 computers being on?

you're gonna spend upwards of $500 for a 396T
and over $400 for a Pro96.
Give or take $50 for either, not up to date on current prices


If the 'battery packs' for the Pro43 and 95 are the same you will be able to use it.
If you buy one from RS, it should be between $5-10.

I ordered one for a Pro92b and it was $6.99
I don't think the price would vary too much from that.
