To program a trunked system into my scanner do I program all the frequencies listed for that system or just the primary control frequencies (red?)

That worked thanks

When I first set it up I used LT-LTR and I seem to get better range. Is there any way to expand the range?

The next question is does any one know what the disbatch frequencies for Mint Hill. I am scanning al the main and all talk groups but I don't hear the main dispatch

Thanks

Not sure what you mean by range, but the system setting shouldn't effect the reception.

There is no dispatch frequency per se since it's a trunked system, according to the database these TGID are used by dispatch

I’m sorry I’m New to this. I want to hear the dispatch from 911 to the cars. All I am hearing is car to car on talk group 48. I have to wonder If I have this thing set up correctly or is there nothing going on..

I have all the frequencies and talk groups for mint hill set up. Yet I went out first thing this morning and there was a 4 car pile up on main street mint hill and I didn't here about it over the scanner Why is that?

By range I mean that I get more and better receiving when I am in the car than I do when I am in the house. Do in need a different antenna?

Thanks

I really don't know if the radio is set up correctly or not, if it's displaying the TGIDs then I imagine it is.
I would check in the TN regional forum to see if anyone can give you more info on the system itself.

I'm guessing your closer to the system site when your driving around an 800MHz antenna should help.

You may need to lock onto the talk group when it talks, for a bit of time, before you hear both ends of the conversation. You can miss transmissions just by the fact you aren't locked onto the talk group. When you see multiple frequencies or talk groups labeled as dispatch, that usually means they dispatch various sections of a city or county on those different talk groups.
