Pro-528 vs BC246T

Is the BC246T worth the extra $50 over the Pro-528 ? Forget the interface cable and AC adapter. I already have them.

As for rebanding. I know both are upgradeable. The BC246T is done by user installed firmware. What about the Pro-528 ?

They are both made by Uniden so can I assume the Pro-528 will support firmware also ?

I just picked a 246. Nice little radio. The one thing that to me is a must is text tags. Also I love the dynamic memory.

Radio Shack says the 528 can be updated by the user.

The 246 has full computer control and software to support it. That alone is worth the extra money.
