Anyone know anything about the Pro64 RF board? I sent my 64 into the Shack to get fixed, it would not even pic up wx, I just got it back. All they say is" unrepaired due to age, part (RF Board) is no longer available". v Anyone knkow somewhere eles to send it that might be able to check it a little deeper and not just change out a whole board or is that the only fix?

It's a pretty old scanner now since it came out 1997. If one of the IC's failed on the RF board, they would usually replace the whole board, since the IC's are surface mount and it's more expensive to replace one surface mount IC than a whole board. If RS says they no longer stock the RF board, that means they probably don't. :) I don't know of anyone who does independant repairs of older RS scanners.

In reality, how much do you want to spend on this scanner anyway? It's likely to be entering a phase where other things will break even if you can get RF board replaced. It was a nice scanner for its day but it's getting to be more obsolete since it won't do any sort of trunking. You can get a Pro-97, with more than twice as many channels and it will do any kind of trunking except digital, for $220. You'll likely end up spending at least half that to get the old scanner fixed and you'll still have an old scanner when you're done.
