Just picked up a pro-652 for $150 at a store that is closing. I downloaded win500 and have RS 20-546 cable. The soft whear shows the cable but it won.t talk to the scanner. Any help?

Scanner must be powered on.
Should be using PC/IF socket. (Not headphone socket).
Check that it is fully seated.
Do not use with the stereo-to-mono adapter.
Cable should appear in Windows Device Manager without error. (No red or yellow icon warnings). Com port may vary which is okay.

Ok how can I check if what I wanten downloaded is in the scanner. I think I put St.Pete trunking in bank 1 ans st.pete dig plice id bank 2.

(I don't have a 652, but my 651 is close enough)
Remove the antenna. Hopefully the scanner won't pick up anything and it will display which banks are being scanned. [First pic] (I say hopefully, as my PRO-197 had no problem receiving the San Diego Police with no antenna attached).
Disable all scanlists. Scanlists are disabled/enabled every time you press their key. Screen should display "Nothing enabled!" [Second pic]
Now toggle scanlist 1 on/off to see if anything is there. I suspect something is there, as most software apps default to placing everything into scanlist 1. Now toggle scanlist 2 on/off to verify something is there.
It's a really good idea to rename your scanlists from the default "Scan List xx" to something more descriptive. [Third pic]
Select the "TSYS Object" tab to verify you have something there. [Fourth pic]

Ok thanks. It looks like I have it all in there. Might need to remove some of it. Our systems down here are quit large.
Well gues I had way to much in each bank. It is working now. Just have 1 more question. Will this scanner, scan digital and conv. at the same time.

Yes it will scan both digital and conv. You can have both in the same playlist.

The only problem with that, is if the trunk system is busier than the conventional, or, vise versa, you won't hear what you want when it's happening. Tried that a few years ago, and it didn't work out.
Put them in separate scan lists. That way if one gets busy, you just have to press MAN to hear the action.
