Sure did. I also tried two different computers (with ez scan) two different usb cords and cpuu updater. I keep getting "can't communicate with scanner" and "unable to verify scanner is in update mode". No lcd display at all, either plugged in or on batteries.
No display on the lcd is a problem.
TRY this...unplug the scanner, pull the batteries, press and hold the power button for at least 30secs while pressing other buttons, Assuming one of the 2 usb cables are good (and they both could be bad) plug the scanner into USB wall wart and report back if it powers on ,if it doesn't call whistler.

Please keep us posted with your diagnosis. i am in the process of sending my 668 for the upgrade and want to know what to look for if i happen to run into this situation.

I tried taking out the batteries and SD card and pressing power and other buttons as the other person who posted suggested, and it came on! Will post again after I mess with it for a bit..
So, the unit appears to be working fine now no problems whatsoever. Works well, even.
Strange. Until that "take the batteries out, unplug, and hold power while pressing other buttons " thing, I thought it was a dead duck. It would appear that the upgrade was a-ok, and I just had a glitch.
