PRO-76 Question?

Hi all,

I bought a PRO-76 awhile back that didn't have the Manual with it. Now that I found one online at RS. I have discovered that I should be able to program it with my PC. The Maunal or FAQ states that I can use the 20-048 cable to program it. I have a cable that I use with my PRO-96, but aren't sure how to go about it.

I did D/L the RS S/W to try it.

Anybody out there doing this? Or is there any other S/W that I can use to make it easier?

Your cable will not work.

R/S software does not run in XP and probably not Win2000 either.

pro92b, thanks, I have the parts for the Cable, will make it this weekend. Good thing I didn't try the other cable :shock:

I bought some software a while ago for my 2067 that they said will work for it but it does not. I paid ~ $15.99 for it witht he cable included. The disk is part # 20-048. It works on some earlier scanner but not sure witch ones.

Actually I just installed it onto my computer running XP pro and it works.

The part number is correct and still active on Radio shacks web page. Here is the link: Or try part # 20-048

It works on the Pro-76,79,89,2016,2017 according to the menu selector.

I'm still going to make the cable. I have the parts on hand, but will try both sets of S/W.
