Pro-82 won't stop scanning & no buttons working

I haven't used my Pro-82 in about a year. I just moved and it's not working properly. I put new batteries in it and it turns on, but it won't stop continuously scanning and none of the buttons will respond. They key pad is not locked. I tried pressing the reset button, and the screen went blank, but then right back to scanning in circles. It only stop when it lands on one of my programmed channels that is active, but then when the air goes dead, it keeps scanning.

Any idea how to make the buttons work again??

Sounds like the keyboard went out or came unplugged. You could contact GRE and see if they still repair these antiques.

yea if they do repair it it may cost an arm and a leg best bet is to get a new scanner

I agree that it would probably be cheaper to buy a new or used one then having that one repaired.

From what I see in the DB, you may also want to take this opportunity to upgrade to a cheap trunking scanner.
