Just curious about the rumor floating around about the Pro-83 being $55 the day after T-giving. Does anyone know the source of that info - as far as the reliability of it? I would have to get one at that price!

I am a RadioShack manager here in OK. I can't confirm or deny what the price will be the day after Thanksgiving, BUT if there are so many sources saying that's going to be the price it makes you think, huh. :wink: If anyone has a problem getting one, PM me and I can arrange to have one sent to your house with no shipping charges. Same goes for any other scanners we sell.

Supplies will be limited to what is on hand an rainchecks will NOT be issued. However, I am ordering in enough to take care of everyone if someone doesn't get one. HOWEVER, I must know by the day after Thanksgiving if you want to get it at the "still unsubstantiated" :roll: sale price. It will be a one day only sale, as far as I have been told.
As far as the Pro-96, I have not seen anything that indicates it will be on sale, I will post if that should change.

You guys at RS will be opening that day at 6am.. which i know you already know that. And alot of door buster items will only be available from 6am to 12pm, which includes the PRO-83.

Surely you will get one! Anyway, I just got back from one of the local stores where I had bought my Pro-95 & Pro-96, and I asked the guy if they had any and he checked, but were out of stock. So I said the only reason I was asking was because of the sale coming up at $59.95 - and he gave me a knowing smile. Checked and said they didn't have any on order, but would order some. His parting comment was a laughing "see you then"! 
Hot Specials on Hot Friday are usually held at the distribution center until the drop ship just before the sale to ensure plenty of inventory on hand on the day of the sale.

The store stocked quite a few though. The price was $59.99 by the way.
Today ("Black Friday") only.
Anyway, it's a pretty decent scanner - CERTAINLY for $59.99!
The "Signal Stalker" feature is really nice. I've tried it out with MURS, FRS and 6M, 2M and 70 CM rigs. It will lock on several hundred feet away which is WAY better than the frequency counters I have.
The down side is that there's no way to easily SAVE this "locked" frequency. It resumes scan or "signal stalk" after a couple of seconds. If you hit a key you can SEE the frequency but you have to punch it in manually if you want to program it to a channel.
The service, chain and direct search modes work very well too.
Bottom line: A great deal today!
