I'm buying the pro-84 bundle for a friend of mine for christmas. He's a race fan and likes to hear the drivers, which is why I'm getting it for him. I've read the thread calling it the barbie and hello kitty scanner, but I was wondering if anyone had any particular reservations about this scanner. I know the bank sizes are low, but it would work well for him as he only likes to listen to the race. Any issues that anyone knows about it, or any success stories from Pro-84 owners would be appreciated. Thanks

Not really, it's a PRO-83 with the same FCC ID number, but has a firmware upgrade for Race Scanning. The PRO-83 is a great buy for the Black Friday price of $60. If you can get the PRO-84 bundle for a low price, go for it.
