I Currently have the pro 95,pro 83 and now I have a pro 89. I am using win95 and pro 83 to assist me in programming the scanner. I am curious if there is a program like those that will assist me in programming the 89 or if I need to program it manually

I don't think there was ever software for the PRO-89.
Look on the side of the scanner to see if there is a port for a programming cable. That would show that it's possible.

I have a Pro 89 scanner and program it using ProLink each year for the Indy 500.[1] Since I have a Mac, I run ProLink in a Windows virtual machine using VMWare or VirtualBox.[2] You will need a USB to Serial Adapter.[3] You will also need a cable that goes from serial DB9 to headset jack.[4] I built my own DB9-to-headset cable using parts from Radio Shack (basically DB9 pin 5 to stereo base & DB9 pin 3 to stereo ring), leave it connected to the USB-to-Serial Adapter, and pull it annually to program my Pro 89 from ProLink. Serial settings are 4800, N, 8, 2, no flow control.

Cheers,

-Burke
