So I just bought a RS Por-90 scanner off of EBAY, and set to programming it, but am unable to hear any conversations in the trunk tracking mode. I followed the given instructions as to programming the frequencies and then using the search function to find the active frequency. I even found the fleet map that I wish to scan and entered the addresses for the talkgroups I want to hear into the scan mode. The scanning works, and the correct talkgroup keys up whenever a transmission is made (I can hear the actual transmission as it is simulcast into vHf over my fire pager) but all I get on the scanner is data static instead of actually hearing the conversation over the scanner. Please help me to figure out why this is happening!!!!

Please post what system you are trying to listen to so that we can help you futher.
I would venture to guess that your trying to listen to a digital system on a scanner that doesnt do digital.
