I have a pro 91 scanner and I live here east of Regina, I was wondering if my scanner will pick up the rcmp, or do I need to get a digital model?
thanks
You will need to get a digital scanner. How far east of Regina are you? Are you able to pick up the Regina Trunked system? You can also scan FleetNet in it's last months of existence.
The Pro91 will not trunk track the FleetNet800 EDACS system. It only does Motorola type 1 and 2 trunking. Look for a Uniden BC396T/XT or GRE500/Pro106 scanner to listen to the RCMP on the P25 system.

Thanks for the correction, mobile1. Sorry for the confusion.
I would also suggest the purchase of a digital scanner. You can do a lot more with it, especially if you travel. The scanners mobile1 outlined would work perfectly on the system.
Will at 396T with no firmware upgrade be able to listen to the RCMP System? Not sure if you need ESK in a scanner to be able to do that province wide system.

No the 396T must be updated for explicit mode P25 trunking and no this P25 system is not EDACS ESK. Just look on the Sask PPSTNetwork data base page and the collaboration pages for more information.
