At the very least you can use the dead one for parts to keep the other one going. I have a '93 and a '95 and use them all the time. I have one connected to UniTrunker. There are many places where these are more than enough scanner to monitor everything.

As it is the monitoring I do doesn't require digital or trunking at least for now so these old scanners work fine. Also have 2 working Pro-2006 base stations.
Can you describe the problem you're having with the PRO-93? I believe that RS will still take the radio for repair, but it could be at a rate that's more than you're willing to pay. It certainly does not hurt to ask.

I'll have to find out. As far as problem well it just doesn't work like if there were no batteries in scanner. For now these scanners joined with other old Regency 10 channel crystal scanner from 1975 but the Regency still works fine along with RS CB/SSB mobile radio.
