I had a strange thing happen to me today. We had a large fire and I was trying to stop on that Talk Group. (800 MHz Motorola type II). I have done this in the past with no problem.

Today the scanner would start scanning again by itself after a few minutes.

This only started after I added a 800 MHz Edacs system on another bank. I tried locking out the bank the Edacs system was on but it still would start scanning by itself (without me pressing any buttons)

Any Ideas?

If you are trunk scanning, you can iether set a Trunk Scan Delay (5 seconds), or hit manual on the particular TG you wish to monitor...

With TSD on it will stop on a TG for 5 seconds after the conversation, then resume scanning.... It will scan all enabeled banks. If you just wish to monitor one TRS, lock out ALL other banks, and set the TSD on....

To turn on the TSD, while its scanning a TRS, hit delay. With the 94 you get both regular delay on conventional systems (2 seconds), and the TSD.

That is what I have been doing. However, yesterday a few minutes (3 or 4) after I hit manual the scanner would resume scaning. I don't understand why it was doing this.

Any more Ideas?

why don't you just set up scan banks. When I see a fire truck, I just go to bank 3, then to what ever district I'm in. This way you can just hit in example / pgm 12 pgm / and IT WILL STAY ON THAT TALKGROUP. I always leave 19 "open" to enter a tac channel, or any channel that may not be in the bank I'm in.
