Pro-94 vs Por-96

I just purchased a pro 96 from RS today and i programmed everything in according to the directions in the manual. Both my pro 94 and Pro 96 both have 800mhz RS antennas, but heres the problem. If there both on, my pro 94 picks up way more transmissions than the 96(more than double). You can hear them fairly clear, but my pro-96 will pick up on it and display the talk ID but will not produce any sound but only on a few of the transmissions. Im not really sure if i missed something when programming it but to me it seems like its not getting a good enough or clear enough signal. Can someone steer me in the right direction here?

Sounds like the pro 96 may not be programmed correctly??. 10 make sure the CTRL ch has a good signal, 2) make sure each frequency as well as the BANK are programmed in the correct MODE

I live in the Hillsborough county area in Florida. I was reading up on where to start the frequencies and I changed them to bank 0 channel 01 instead of being on channel 00. This has made a pretty big difference in the amount of transmissions I hear. As for the mode, all channels are showing under the ED mode. Since this was one of my first 2 posts it had to be approved by an admin, so I had like a whole day on my own to figure it out. I love the forums, wiki, and all the sub-forums as they have been a big help. One other thing is that I am at my house and I can pick up Tampa police dept. much clearer than any of the HCSO channels even though I know there are several much closer HCSO towers to my house. Does this have to do with Tampa being on standard frequencies and HCSO being on an ED trunked system?
