Pro 94 vs. Pro 95

i own a PRO-94 and let me tell you, the audio quality is terrible. it's sensitive enough for trunking, but it has a very limited signal range. I've never used a PRO-95 before, but from what i hear, it sounds like the better choice of the two.
The main feature lacking in the Pro-94, that can be found in the Pro-95, is a computer interface. IMHO being able to reprogram your radio with a computer is must-have feature.

Boy, now that you mentioned it, it sure would be hard to choose between those two options. Good thing ya dont have to with the 95. :wink:
I could see where alpha tags would be prefered over a computer interface if once you had your radio programed, that is the way it stayed. But if you are on the go, having pre-complied lists that can be uploaded to your radio by a computer is a huge time saving factor.
Not only would need to manaully rekey in your frequencies, ya would also be manually rekeying in alpha tags. It makes me woozie just thinking about it ..

As someone who sells them... I stock about 10-12 95's to 2 94's. I sell an average of 1 95 a day. I sell about 1 94 a month and that is usually just because of the price difference that someone doesn't care about because it is a gift and they would rather not spend 199 compared to 169.nute89 said:

PC/IF: The first time I did the alpha tags by hand ..... Was a exercise for finger dexterity. Not that it can't be done but man is the computer soooo much faster. Not to mention saving differnt scanner setups then loading what you want when you want it. Kindof like a big version of a V-scanner.
The Manuals: The 94 manual was written by some greek guy who gave it to a spanish guy who sent it to his cousins friend in Ireland to translate it into Japanese so they could convert it to English. Not that the 95 is the best manual I've ever read, at least you can figure things out with it.
Operation: Ok so the 94 has a few less keys... Which means a lot of push and hold compared to just push the button for programming. I like the 95's interface so much it was a part deceiding factor when I bought my 95 today over the 96 because I'm familiar with the key layout.

RS's new PRO-99 Racing Scanner is the same way... :?
