Greetings,
On the W95 screen (version 00.13 is version..assuming that is the latest), on the bottom right quadrant of the screen are the 5 sub-banks in which I can enter my talk groups for the respective bank that I'm looking at.
As you know, there are 3 formats I can choose for entering my talk group numbers: DEC, HEX and AFS (whatever AFS is).
The system I have programmed is a Motorola Type II system and the presets are all set to TYPE II for the Fleetmap.
I have cleared the talk groups pre-installed by Radio Shack when I bought the scanner using the "Clear Trunk Info" button so I can create my own custom list, however, when I enter the talk group numbers, I am getting an error message saying the numbers I'm entering are out of range. Specifically I get the message saying "ID MUST BE IN THE RANGE 0-2047" when the DEC button is pressed, when trying to enter a talk group number 2096.
Now on my list of local frequencies for the MOT Type II system I'm trying to program, it shows 3 colums of information: M6, MH and TkGroup. The numbers under those columns for the particular talkgroup I'm trying to program are. M6: 800131, MH: 0830, TkGroup: 2096.
I'm assuming in W95 in the ID field I am supposed to be entering the 2096 number with the DEC button depressed. However, when I do this, I get the msg about the ID being out of range.
If I depress the HEX button, it only shows me a 3-place number under the hex column and if I try to enter 0830 (which appears to be a hex number), it truncates the end number when I hit ENTER.
I am assuming there is some other setting in W95 that I should be fixing but I'm not sure what it is. Even when I tried to view the sub banks with the pre-programmed Radio Shack numbers, I was getting ID out of Range in an endless loop and I had to do the three-finger salute to restart w95.
I have attached a screenshot of my screen if that will help anyone to this post.
Anyone have any insight?
Thank you in advance,
Ron Jaffe
