Welcome to the group Andy! :)

First, you need to decide on how much money you are willing to spend. Since we really do not have any digital system here in Oklahoma you next need to decide if you *want* a digital scanner.

Both the 95 and the 245 will serve you well.

Like Crayon said depends how much you want to spend. I would either go with the Pro 95 or the BC 246t since there is no digital in Oklahoma with the exception of Emsa in Tulsa. Then later down the road you could go digital myself cannot see letting go of the money for a digital scanner until later and by then they may have more features or pick up more hopefully Pro Voice if it ever comes to be available in a scanner. I have both the Pro-95 and the 246t. I lean more toward the 246t with all the features but if money is a issue the Pro 95 is on sale for 149.99 at Radio Shack or if you have the extra cash the BC246T is about $230 but comes with a/c adapter, computer cable, batteries etc. Hope this helps you out and welcome to the group.
