Pro-95 capabilities

Hello,
I have a newb question about the pro-95.

I'm in CT and accoring to the RR database the state police is a Motorola SmartZone II. I cant seem to find any state police trasmissions.

Is there a specific order i have to put them in a bank?

are there any CT trunked systems I can listen to with the pro-95?

If you are talking about the CT state police yes its smartnet system but its APCO 25 digital the 95 will not pick it up looks like you may be able to pick up some of the other trunk systems there. Hope I anwered you question.

I see. So what is APCO 25?

Is there a tutorial on this website that explains things like
what a signal stalker is etc..

I'm relatively new to scanning and dont have a grasp of the terminology.

That's fine if you don't know all the terms. APCO-25 is a digital radio format that ANALOG scanners like your PRO-95 can't monitor. That's all APCO-25 is, just a format or digital audio.

The PRO-96, PRO-2096, and a few Uniden Scanners can monitor digital.

I don't think the is a signal stalker tutorial on this site because signal stalker is SO NEW to the scanning community.

Signal Stalker is almost like Uniden's Close Call except Uniden has pager skip.

"Close Call RF Capture Technology: Allows the user to be alerted if anyone keys up within a couple of hundred feet and automatically tunes into the transmission."

I have read post of people saying they are getting reception on Close Call from 100' to a couple miles with the close call. My 246T should be arriving tomorrow so I can't say from expierence.
