Hello,
I live in Miami Dade County, down in South Florida. Yesterday I just programmed my local fire dept's MedCom freq. into the scanner. Now i put them all in LCN order and closed the bank so I only pick up those MedCom frequencies. I pick up the conversations fine, the problem I face is that at the end of their transmission the radio goes back into scanning but gives me the sound of hell. Its a mix of the beeps, mumbled talking, and that sound that sounds like an 18 wheelers engine. Does anyone know whats wrong?

Make sure that you have each channel AND the bank set to EDACS.

Both are good.

Did you start with channel 0 or 1?

The LCN has to start with channel 1 of the bank.

That's a tough one.
I hear odd data grumbles at the ends of transmissions at times when listening to the KCMO system but it's usually a fraction of a second.

The only thing I could think of is the LCN is somehow wrong or you're in an an area with a weak signal or interference.

I would recheck the LCN programming etc.... a few more times.

Dam, what makes it even more horrible is that when these sounds come out, my scanner will no longer continue to scan the numbers I put in the bank, it just does that engine type-beeping-garbled type sound.

I live pretty much in the center of my county and I have tried it in different places with the same result.
