I could not beleive when I saw it on the Radio Shack webpage,
Pro-95 $129.99
I paid a little over $200 for mine just a little less than a year ago,
makes me a little sick considering that I am now thinking of purchasing
the Pro-2096 or the Pro-96 at $499.99
My luck I will buy one and next year the price will be half of that, oh
well thats technology for you.

PRO 95

Danny,
I saw that on radioshack.com too. I don't think the PRO 95 will get a any cheaper but it's a great price for now.

:D I was able to snag one Wednesday, its going to be a great birthday present for one of my relatives. The manager at the store that I bought it told me that the price was good online including shipping. Try their website and maybe those who are looking for the PRO-95.

I just went to the local RS to take a look at one. It was the last one they had and looked like it had been beat around. I told them I would just order one online. BOTH clerks told me they are not online anymore since they are on clearance. I told them that the must have gone offline 10 minutes before. They kept arguing until we went to their PC. I grabbed the keyboard and mouse. Searched for scanner. Scrolled down and low and behold there was it was.

I think they were in a bad mood because someone just grabbed a laptop and ran out of the store right before I got there.

I found one at the Riverton store today, one of two left. Good deal! The beauty of 1000 channels is I can load virtually EVERY frequency I want for my road trips. My handy little PRO 93 can relax a bit now for I now have my road dog. It works great!

The guy behind the counter at our local store was telling me that they are not on clearance. He argued with me about it until I told him to check the computer :) I almost got another one but decided I didnt really need it  Does this mean I'm getting old???????

I went into a radio shack today in okc with my dad went over to pick up a 800 mhz antenna for his pro 95 and they had them on the shelf with a $199.99 price tag asked the sales person wasn't the pro 95 on clearance he told me that it wasn't and that was the price it was supposed to be. I just laughed to myself.

You know, these price differences could be as a result of company owned vs franchise stores. Franchise stores don't have to follow the pricing guidelines of the company in regard to clearence items.

PRO 95

Hi Lou,
I agree with you about the price differences for the PRO 95. But I also think the reason why the PRO 95 went on sale at $129.99 is Radio Shack trying to get rid of their PRO 95's and leave room for new scanners.

Thinking of upgrading from Pro 93

So, 300 to 1000 channels is great. I haven't tried to do the math. How did they do this? more banks or more channels with in a bank? That may not be so good? I would prefer more than 9 banks so I can have more categories to org. freqs.

I have been having trouble finding a good antenna to boose my reception with the Pro-93 (been though a Discone and something like it which is on the roof, both either overloaded the scanner or just don't work right).

I can't find other scanners out that have such an EASY text labeling system than the Pro-93 and 95.

So, why shouldn't I go with the Pro-95 for my next scanner?

too many channels grouped at once - too hard to turn on and off for selective scanning in my opinion.
