What city or county system are you trying to monitor?
In 'Tune' mode, my pro-95 steps 6.25 which would only
require another step up or down to get 12.5.

i am usin the 800 mhz mode type 2 i am talking about when you enter the freq in like 854.975 it says 100k instead of 12.5k this creates a problem with the scanner and it will stop off freq and the freq will sound all distorted like it is not on the right freq

Not quite sure what the problem is, but I have a Moto system with these freqs in it, and it works fine on my 95 / 866.3375 - 867.4375 & 868.2125.

Okay let's get a couple of things straight.

1. The Pro-95's step size has nothing to do with trunk tracking Motorola systems. All of the Moto channels are already programmed into the scanner. You put in the CC and it gets the voice frequencies from the internal table that you have no control over. This by the way, is the reason it will be a brick as far as Moto 800 Trunktracking after the FCC rebanding.

2. The frequency you stated above, 854.9750, is a splinter system frequency, channel 0x9f (159) to be exact. So the probable reason that your scanner is going to the wrong frequency is that you have not set up the TRS you are trying to listen to as a Splinter System, refer to you owner's manual.

3. The bandwidth of all the GRE scanners is such that they do not need to have the exact frequency entered to receive the signal properly. This is a problem on the Uniden scanners because the Unidens offer a choice of bandwidth selectable by the user, whereas the GRE's do not.
