hey guys, do any of you know the keycode to change the freq's in the predefiend search banks? I know there is one beacuse my cousin has his changed. i asked him if it was a hardware mod and he said no that there is a key code to change this. He couldnt do it for me beacuse he said his friend at rs did it for him.

P.S. are there any more keycodes?

I don't know of any "keycode" but if you use Win95 you can set the upper and lower limits of the pre-defined search range, and you can lock-out any freqs that you don't want to receive while in search mode. I'm sure you can do it manually as well. Check the manual.

I was under the impression that only the user-defined-limits range (I believe it's SR5) is the only one that can be changed. The other ranges have multiple limits within them. You can turn "subbanks" within those ranges on and off, like for police/fire you can disable 800 MHz or VHF-Low, but you can't redefine the limits, not even with Scancat or Win95.

If I'm wrong on that, I would also like to know how to change them, since the police/fire section doesn't include UHF T-Band (470-512 MHz).

I believe you are correct on SR5 being the only one that can have the upper and lower limits changed. I've never seen it done in any of the other SR banks.

How do you do the sub-banks thing, ie, disable 800 MHz? I also thought that #5 was the only one you can control. I will try the Func / 5 thing someone mentioned. Need to run some errands, but I'll be back on RR around 1600 hrs.

For the Pro 96/2096, if you're searching the Police/Fire group, just hit the number on the keypad for the subbank you don't want to search. If you want eliminate the 800 mHz subbank, just hit 4 while the scanner is in search mode. No fancy programming needed. Same principle applies the the Ham subbanks. I don't know if the same thing applies to the Pro 95

to redefine the SR5 banks you push program and then search then enter the L and H frequencies. func then 5 doesn't do anything in search mode it only closes or opens banks. To have the scanner reset and program in frequencies that are initial you can push 0 and 4 or 5 when you turn the scanner on.
