I just found my older Pro-95 scanner and I am new to the scanner hobby. Indianapolis's public safety radio system is an 800 MHz system called MECA. I have figured out how to program the repeaters I like to listen to in the scanner, but when it comes to programming the multiple MECA frequencies I am totally lost! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

indyradio, welcome to the hobby of scanning.Your Radio Shack Pro-95 is analog and not digitial. In order to hear IDPS(MECA) will need a scanner that will pick up digital. Your pro-95 will be ok to listen to aircraft, ham radio, ect that are still in use.You might want to consider buying a digital scanner so you can hear IDPS.

I'd highly recommend the GRE PSR-800 for the job of tracking MECA (IDPS).

I would highly recommend that you look at the Uniden 396XT or The Uniden Home Patrol HP-1 as I own both of them.
