I have a Pro 95.
Locally we have a Motorola type II (hybrid?) system (Pinellas Co. FL).
Normally in the past I have always justed entered all listed freqs used in the system into each bank, then the TGID's I want to monitor within that bank. (BTW- I do all my programming by hand, manually)

My question is about using the Auto Channel Programming function.
When this is used do I still need to enter all the freqs within the system as I have done in the past?
Or do I just enter control channel freqs then go into the bank I want and set the offset (i.e.- pgm+trunk+func+"3", set offset (normal)+enter.
No fleet map ever needed in the past (prg + trunk + func+"8"+"15" + enter, for type II).

Hope my post is understandable, not well versed on alot of the radio terminology.
Thanks for any help
you can lend.

Its been along time since i have even messed with mine. It just takes time to find your way around. If memory serves me you have to start systems on like channel 001 and not 000 of the bank you are programing it into. Good Luck youll get it.

Webley445,
I have the 95 and have one system loaded. I don't listen to it much, but I believe I loaded all the frequencies for the system and the radio finds the control channel from there. If I remember right, the control channel moves frequencies withen the group and the radio just finds the control and understands what to do from that... I HAS been some time since I programed it but I think that's how it works for the Moto Smart system. On top of that, I just used the software to do it. Good Luck...
Later...

I think you are thinking of EDACS system programming.

Scott,
I just tried entering just the control channel freqs from the RR dataabse it appears to be working.
The only thing now it that, supposedly, one city in the county uses one set of freqs/CC, and the rest of the county uses anothe...plus there are two alternate CC's listed. Just need to figure out which to use for which agencies, or perhaps just enter them all.

But this sure as heck beats sitting down and having to enter the almost 30 freqs in use like I have been.
Though it was confusing at first way back when I always felt it was good to be able to do this like I do, on the fly in case the need ever arose.
