Totally newby, zero scanning background until Christmas Day when I received a RS Pro 95.

Thanks to RR & Forum user posts, I was able to obtain about a dozen PD & FD (Police & Fire Department) frequencies for my area which I manually entered into bank 0. So this morning I got the IF cable and downloaded Win95 (Thank you Mr. Starr). I was able to obtain some more PD & FD freqs, along with about dozen EMS freqs. (which I loaded into bank 1).

With bank 0 dedicated to PD/FD and bank 1 dedicated to EMS, I found that I was missing alot of PD activity due to the volume of EMS activity. I realize the 95 supports one priority channel.

Is there some way of configuring the 95 recognize some sort of priority bank? I'd like bank 0 (PD/FD) to have a higher priority than bank 1. If I assign one the bank 0 channels as my priority freq, will this force the 95 to scan the other bank 0 channels?

Happy Holidays!

Thanks.

Currently, I am only using FM freq.

When I am entering channels (FM freq. values) into their specific banks, should I enter them in freq. order?

I am currently entering channel entries based up the the text tag I assign (ie. FPD1, FPD2, Clovis PD1). Does it make any difference the order of the channels within a given bank?

No you can put them in anyway you want. Myself I try to set it up like the radios that we use so I no if I go to ch. 4 it is the same as any of the other radios I use. Only with EDACS it has to be LCO.
