I just recived a Pro 95 and seem to be having some issues with it. Every thing works fine when i am scanning the non trucked Freq. But when i scan the trunked freq i dont have any squalch control. When scanning the trucked ones i can turn the squalch all the way down but no sound. But when i am in one of them in Manual mode i can turn it down and the voulum comes on.
The other problum is I programed in all the freq for the FtWorth area and all the Talk group ID`s and dont hear any thing. I have been told it is a Moto type 2 Smart net and did the programing acording to the guid book. also tried seeting Freq to normal and off set and still no luck. Can any one help me ?

This isn't a problem, this is the way the Pro 95 works in trunk mode.

Make sure each channel in the bank is set to MO (motorola) that you have
trunk freqs programmed. Then make sure you bank is set for trunking.
If this is already done, then go to manual mode
and check each freq you have programmed and see if the scanner picks
up the control channel. If it doesn't, you might not have all the freqs or
your just not getting a good enough signal.
This is a start, let us know more about your situation.

On the the squalch thing. I read in the book to set the squalch just above where the hissing stops in trunked mode.. Thats why I was woundering.
Now with the Frq I looked them all up in police call and there was 20 for the FtWorth area.. I read that you only need the control but to be safe add them all. I added them all. It just might be to far out like you said. :(
Ok now this may seem a little strang to me. I loaded some freq for a place just a few miles away that where listed as trunked in Police call when loaded into scanner did not get any thing so I placed them in a non trunked bank and they work fine.

Thanks for the help. :)

Ok I found a Local Trunking Sys with EDACS. I programed in all the freq in number order with Ch 1 on up. When in scan mode I do not pick nothing up. But in Manually mood and i bring up the channel i can pick it up loud and clear.. The bank is set for EDACS as well as the channel. What am I doing wrong ?

All the freq in the Moto is set MO But how can I tell if the bank is set to Trunking ?
In the bank you have your trunk freqs in press 'PGM' then 'Trunk'
if the screen says not in trunk mode press the mode button until you get to
motorola.
As for EDACS, I can't help you. I have no edacs systems around here.

EDACS works great on my 95. You MUST have the freqs. in the EXACT order starting with one, NOT ZERO. Also, be sure you are in EDACS mode. Try again and let me know what happens.

Dude, you have to set the S-QUELCH first, to block out the samsquinch noises you're getting from the local oscarator.

The most important thing you need to do in order to receive the trucked channels is get a CB and put it on channel 19 first, to see if you can hear them controlling. Once you get that figured out, you can figure out their talk groups then set up with the distractulator and cut it out with the data slicer.

Just keep in mind that if it's trucked, it will be moving around a lot. You need to scan it faster or set up a speed down mod so you can watch it in real time.

Ok all is set with the Moto Thing bank and freq is set right. Thanks for the help there.
Now for the edacs I have that bank set for 400 and is set for edacs. I do have them in order Starting mine at 401 on up to 415 acording to the Freq List and also have the Freq set for ED as well.. But it will just scan and not pick any thing up untill i hit Manual than it comes in load and clear but with no Talk group ID.

Ok I was just playing with the scanner and for the heck of it I Changed one the EDACs freq to MOto and was able to pick it up but with still no group ID`s. All the rest of the frq where still set to edacs. But the system is listed under EDACs.. On the RR Database.

What EDACS system are you trying. I'll look it up during the the next TV commercial, and get back to you.

OK, I see that it's a 900 MHz system. The only 900 systems in Colorado are Moto, and they are SMR (shared mobile radio) that buisnesses use. They are not nearly as strong as 800 systems, but my 95 does recieve them. I've never tried a 900 EDACS system. The fact that you do hear traffic, makes me think that you should be able to monitor them. Do you hear traffic on all 15 freqs???? I need to walk over to the ATM & Burger King, but I'll be back.

It doesn't matter where you live. Actually I like Texas :D .
If you are only hearing traffic on one freq., something is wrong. Maybe your too far away from their tower. I would suggest that you post your question in the Texas forum. This whole website is owned by a Texan! I'm sure someone has tried this system you are trying, and can help you.

Good Luck / Jerry

I brefly picked up a Conversation on the first Channel that I have programed and it had a Talk Group ID Number listed but when i moved I lost it. I picked it up in Moto Mode though when it is supost to be in Edacs.

Are you in the open (+) or closed (-) mode for the bank and do you have the talk groups programmed?
