Just got a new PRO 95, love it. I also have Don Starr's software, like it but I'm not understanding the trunking info. I have the trunking freqs and alpha tags in the 00 to 99 area but I'm unable to install the alpha tags in the trunking area. Fleet Map preset is E1P8 and I see the trunking ID # on my scanner, just unable to get the alpha tags to take.

The alpha-tag slots are full of blank spaces. Click on the slot, and then use your keyboards backspace key to go back to the beginning of the slot, then you should be able to type in the alpha-tag.

I gave that a shot. It takes the text, but how do I match the alpha tag with the ID# in the 00-19 area?
Sorry, this trunking thing is new to me.

Under the "#" sign you will see 00-19. The alpha-tag corresponds to the ID on the same row. For instance, my 01 is "LPD Dispatch" and 25104 is next to it in the ID column.

You have been the most help I have had yet. Now,, where do I get the number to put in the ID? The numbers I got from a web-site for the Talk Groups for my area were like, PoliceDispatch ID# 309-2, Fire Dispatch ID# 402-4, and so on. The ID numbers wont work.

At the top of RadioReference.com, click "RR Database". Next, click on your state, then county. Other sites out there are good, but RR is usually alot more accurate than any, due to it's users constantly upgrading any changes of frequencies or talkgroup IDs.

Try this p95, I got all but the St Joseph Housing Authority to work but it locks in at 1001-1 instead if 101-01.

Block 1 is size code S1. The radio displays IDs in blocks with size code S1 as:
BFFF-S
where:
B = block
FFF = fleet
S = subfleet

Size code S1 has 7 bits for the Fleet ID, so it requires 3 digits (as opposed to 2 digits for all other size codes). Only one digit is used for the subfleet (while all other size codes use 2 digits).

Thank much to you all. And thank you Don S. for a super program. Just sorry I'm so new at this, I havent figured it out yet. I think I'm pretty smart but my inability to wait and work things out takes over.

No sir, the file you sent me has the alpha-tagging in place, rather than some "binary hoo-ha". I'm not sure why it's doing that on yours. Perhaps Mr. Starr will chime in with a solution, as I've never seen that before.

Thanks Jay. It's weird, and may be something I'm doing wrong. I haven't had a lot of time to use the software yet. I think I get Fri off, so I'll try then. Also, I'ii try that "other thing" again on Fri.

Jerry, I'm guessing this is what yous looks like:
Narrow.jpg

(The first 10 are 0s [0-9], the next 10 are 1s [10-19]).

It should look like this:
Normal.jpg

Just pull the column wider, like you would in Excel.
