This is my 2nd PRO 95 and it was working fine for 4 years and just last week, it went silent. Nothing is picking up. It turns on fine, I've reset it, initialized it and i cant hear anything anymore. This is the second PRO 95 i've had that it goes silent after a couple of years. Does anyone know why? It dosent bother me too much cause i have 8 other scanners, but for some reason i loved the PRO 95

1. Try a different antenna and make sure it's making a connection. 2. Can you rotate the squelch and hear noise? 3. You may have a broken connection on the circuit board from the antenna connector.

I've seen all kinds of issues with these scanners, from the PRO-92 onward. There are the commonly known issues of failed squelch or volume pots (although not as much on the '95) and the disconnected antenna jack. I've also seen oxidized connections between the circuit boards inside the scanner. I wish they had used gold plated connections.

I assume the scanner is programmed (you can see that on the display), and that it "scans", and that what you are experiencing is it does not ever stop on a channel. Your test of the Wx frequencies suggests a disconnected antenna jack inside the scanner (or worn connector).

Out of all the scanners I have, I love the PRO95s the best for 800 MHz trunking. They pick up better and don't need CT/DC decoding for that.
