PRO-95 TG problem

Hello!

I will be moving from Greenacres (West Palm Beach), Florida to the Greater Seattle area sometime this year (hopefully). I was wondering if you could help me with my PRO-95! I am trying to put TG #23955 in and it keeps resetting it to #23952 like this:

I type:​

Bank 3-2 ON
[font=Courier New]ID No. 18[/font]
[font=Courier New]MOT: 23955[/font]
[font=Courier New]

[/font]
It comes up:

Bank 3-2 ON[/font]
[font=Courier New]ID No. 18
[left]MOT: 23952[/left]
Dupl ID 2-17

What do I do? Any help would be helpful!

I'm going to take a guess here, and say that it's because 23955 isn't a valid talkgroup ID; I believe that valid Motorola IDs are evenly divisible by 16.

Hello Jayfurd, long time no see!

Now it may be an invalid ID, that's all fine and dandy, but if you have a Police Call CD-ROM, just go under Seattle Trunk. Or take a look at http://www.northwestradio.com/interceptnw/kcpd.htm, about 7/8ths of the way down, at King County Police. I don't know much about Motorola talkgroups or anything like that, I've only been trunking for 3 months, but I really need to listen to TG#23955.

Perhaps maybe someone can at least point me in the direction of the correct ID for this talkgroup? Is listening to King County Transit Police a lost cause?

You're probably right

It very well could be that they meant TG#23984, but it says for 23955: KING COUNTY TRANSIT PD PATCH TO TG 23344. So that is how the Transit police talk to the East Sheriff. I guess I'll just program 23984 and hope you're right. You probably are

Another thing to concider, even if the talk group is not a typo and is a valid talkgroup
it would be a status bit talk group. The Pro 95 does not have the feature to turn this
on and off. So being that is the case, if 23955 is valid you WOULD hear the conversation
on 23952. You will NOT miss anything transmited on ANY of the status bit talk groups.
The Pro 95 just shows you the main talk group ID without the status bit added to it.
Anything trasmitted between talkgroups 23952 and 23968 will be heard on 23952.
