At my computer, duh!
Ok, I swapped the 94 and got a 95, have programmed the control frequencies, marked them as a motorola system, and entered the talkgroups in the tgid sub banks. It scans in open mode and finds everything, scans in closed mode and finds only programmed tgid's. Yipeee. so far so good. But I cannot park it on a talk group in manual mode. If you hit manual, it decides that what you really wanted to listen to is the control chanel, which it tells me is a motorola control channel, and even shows active talkgroup id's. Now, if it _knows_ that it's a control channel, playing audio doesn't seem to EVER be the right answer, but that aside - how can I park it on a given talkgroup, rather than scan for active talkgroups.

Manual, Func, Trunk APPEARS to set it to listen to the current talkgroup without scanning, but it doesn't seem to get any traffic when parked this way. Can someone clue me in?

While the TG is active press and hold TRUNK until you see ID HOLD ON that will lock in tht talk group. Press TRUNK or SCAN to return to normal scanning.

Eww. so there's no way to park it on a talkgroup before activity happens? Way not cool.

try this...

BEFORE ACTIVITY HAPPENS, press prg - trunk, then scroll to the talkgroup you wish to monitor, then press func - trunk.

that should then display the ID on line 3 and ID HOLD ON on line 4

Same as the 92,.. thats the only real advantage the 94 has,... you can set priority TG's and use trunking priority and then be able to monitor the other TG's, and not miss the action on your fav one. Oh and Trunking delay.. instead of no delay on any TG on the 92/95, you can have a delay for the trunked systems.. it is a 5 second delay.....

OK, from manual or scan, I press PRG then TRUNK. It shows the following

Bank 0-3 ON
ID No 00
MOT: 08880
EMSDISPATCH

So far so good, let's say I want to park it here, I press FUNC then TRUNK and it just gives an error beep (lower pitched than the keypad beep.) The display remains the same.

The only that I have been able to get my 95 to hold on a TG is to hold the trunk button till it holds. Thats why I still use my 95 regularly.

That's only for the Pro-96.
