Pro-95 wont scan

I have a pro-95 scanner and it wont pick up anything while in scan mode. I can listen to a freq on manual if i leave it on that one freq but it just stays quiet when i scan.

I have purchased the computer cable. I have purchased Scancat-lite and put all of my freqs in again with that and I am still having the same problem. Any ideas?

Banks I want to scan are open and it shows that it is scanning them just doesnt stop on anything.

What kind of system are you trying to listen to?

The free Win95 program (from Starrsoft) is far more reliable, of course. That could be part of the problem.

Hello again, I see you are online over here now, so I'll work with you here rather than at Scanamerica.
Have you tried Win96 yet?
Do you have the manual for the Pro-95 ( http://support.radioshack.com/manuals/ome20-525.pdf ) I think around page 57 or so may be of some help.
Are you having issues with just the trunked system or are the conventional freqs causing problems too?
Have you had any success changing the BANK setting to MOT for the trunked system yet?

In Springfield bank press PGM TRUNK. Then press Mode and use UP to MO. Go through each frequency and change to MO. Each have MO displayed in upper right of display. Press SCAN when finished.

yes i started with the manual that didnt help
I do have all the banks with MO on now. Still nothing.

i have DL'd Win 95 I think i may just delete everything down to two freqs and see if that helps. Maybe it just doesnt like one of the ones i have in there.

well the Springfield stuff is working... still playing with Nixa trying to make that work but its not atm.

Not neccessary, unless you need to free-up the channels or bank(s) I would leave it separate.

The Conv. Frequencies (Nixa Stuff) is as simple as it gets. So not sure why that wouldn't work.

Just put the numbers in there and make sure they're all set to FM.
And it SHOULD work, make sure they're not locked out.
Also of course make sure THAT bank is on.
How long as that not been working?
I suppose they could have switched frequencies.


Does your Husband, work for NPD?
Maybe you could get him to key up his mobile or portable.

Win95 got Springfield to work now i am just trying to get Nixa to do the same

Thanks mancow, last time I was in that corner of MO, Branson was just another town. :lol:

To Kito,
I would maintain the Motorola system separate from other activity so you can toggle banks accordingly. Fact is, you might even consider repeating to a bank for LE and another for F/EMS, then still have 8 banks for other activity.

Win95 will be very useful using Windows copy/paste and Edit>Bank Editor for shifting banks as needed.
