• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I know this has probaly been answered a million times....But I just recently purchased a Pro-96 and Pro 2096 both with date code 04A06 but the 96 has CPU F1.4 and the 2096 has CPU F1.2....My questions are why would they have different CPU's with the same date code and what is the difference with the CPU anyway??? They both have the same DSP APP F1.2 & DSP VOC F1.0....

No difference...just numbered in the order they came out. PRO-96 was out first and had a couple of revisions before the 2096 hit the market. So when the 96 was on CPU 1.2 the 2096 was on version 1.0 which was the equivalent to the 96's CPU, just the first one used in the 2096.
