I have a pro 96 with the 9 volt adapter that has always worked up until a couple days ago and was wondering if the plugin on the scanner was known to go bad on it? The actual 9 volt cable seems to work fine which is why im wondering if the actual plugin on the scanner could go bad.

Anyone heard of this happening?

It's possible

Is the connection loose? Were the tips prongs bent?

On the scanner side is the prong bent?
Did you hook up any other accessories lately or car chargers?

It turns out that the 9v plugin adapter is bad because when I took it to RS they plugged one in and it worked fine. Anyone know where I can get one cheap?

The Pro-96 manual says to use a "C" tip. That is wrong, it actually takes a "B" tip or it will not always make a proper connection.

I use the C tip for all my RS scanners and it works fine.
