• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

additional info

i am seeing the correct id's for the system when it switches to the voice channels (i have a 250d as well, its working fine) the voice channels its switching to are way off

firmware is 1.2
dsp is 1.1

did the dsp test as mentioned in the manual and it shows 'failure' but im not sure if that is being performed right? Has anyone else run that test? what is the expected result?

also, loaded an edac's system, its not switching to the right voice channels either.. and i have the LCN's correctly entered (as verifed by the 250d)

is this thing toast or what? i just bought it today... !!!!

Pro 96/OPP VHF settings

Dave,

Try this.... Manually stop on an active control channel. Press FUNC-Trunk,
Then FUNC-3...Make sure it is set to 'Table'.

Cheers,

Terry

Set the radio to use "Table" by using FUNC+3 option....

The test that shows "failure" is supposed to have a test set signal injected into it to work most likely....

Next time try posting your question in the Canadian forum. We've got lots of people already monitoring this particular system with the Pro 96 and Uniden scanners.

There's a FAQ for setting up the Uniden scanner but nobody has come forth to write one for the Pro96 yet.

problem solved.!!!

it seems that you need to set the control channel mode to 'table' rather than normal for the ontario system with the pro-96

thanks to everyone for their assistance!

special thanks to the two members with the 'table' suggestion!

Dave I also noticed that your dsp is only 1.1 Is this correct or did you make a typo error. If you are running firmware 1.2 it should have come with the dsp version of 1.2. If not here is the file and instruvctions on how to upload it.
