Pro 96 and starcom 21 (broken radio?) question please help

i live in Chicago land area. i have 3 banks set up with starcom 21

Bank 7 District 2 TG's
Bank 8 District Chicago TG's
Bank 9 District 15 TG's

each bank is as fallows

i have it this way cuz i live in Kane County and i go to Lake, Cook, and McHenry county's alot

at home when i hit manual it always stops on Site 115 Main Control with a decode rate of 97-99%

yet i get alot of machine gun sound yet

my CPU is 1.4 with DSP APP 1.4 and DSP VOC 1.0

i have the RS 800 MHz Ant.

is anybody else having this problem
could my radio be messed up

I also have a Pro-96 and use it on a trunked system. Anytime you push the manual button, you will exit the trunked mode and go back to a conventional mode. Usually the first thing the scanner will come to is the control channel, thus the "machine gun" sound. That's where the manual mode will sit.

What is it that you are trying to do when you hit "manual"? Are you attempting to listen to a particular talkgroup? I like the Pro-96, but will admit that some of the function controls are a little unfriendly and cumbersome.

Hmm....I used to have that happen with my Uniden analog trunktracker, but not with the Pro-96....Sorry, I don't have an answer.

You need to go back to ver:1.2, here in Joliet i get NO machine-gunning on T125,126,115, on my PRO96/2096....Most people have returned to that ver....

well i went back to 1.2 and your right i have been scanning for like 30 min and no machine gunning

after about a week i have to say i still get the machine gunning but alot less maybe 1 or 2 times an hour where with DSP 1.4 id get it almost every transmission
