Pro-96 and Win96

I am fairly new to the scanning world. I have a Pro 96 that I am trying to program with Win96. I am using Radio Shack cable, 20-047. For some reason it is recognizing the scanner when I hook it up. Any thoughts? Is there a driver that I am missing???

I'm pretty sure you meant '(not) recognizing', and I think you hit the nail on the head. You need the driver for the cable to make it replicate a COM port.

That's a pretty old cable SKU, but I *think* it came with a CD with drivers on it...Mike

Make sure you load the driver BEFORE attaching the cable...

Thanks!!! I think I am just going to purchase a newer cable. The CD only has drivers for Windows 2000.
